Is my cookware induction compatible?
You need to use cookware that is induction compatible, which means that it has to be made of a ferromagnetic material or have inserts with magnetic properties.
Enameled iron, cast iron, most types of stainless steel, any kind of cookware with a magnetic bottom are all induction compatible. All Fagor cookware is induction compatible.
If you are unsure about your cookware, you can easily test if it is induction compatible. All you need is a magnet. If a magnet readily clings to the base of your cookware piece, that piece is induction compatible; if the magnet does not cling, or clings only very weakly, the piece is not suitable for induction cooking.
If your cookware is not currently induction compatible, there’s no need to go out and invest in a new set. Fagor America is offering a promotion for a FREE Cookware Set with the purchase of a built-in induction cooktop in selected retailers available while supplies last. Please contact 1-800-207-0806 for details.
How can I obtain better results with my Fagor Induction Cooktop?
Always place your cookware in the center of the burner. The cooktop is equipped with heating sensors that determine the temperature inside of the cookware. Placing the cookware in the center is necessary for a most accurate cooking performance.
The thicker the bottom of the cookware, the better cooking results you will obtain. Remember, induction cooking technology principals are based on magnetism. If the bottom of the cookware is substantial enough to have a strong magnetic bond with the cooktop elements, heat will be better-distributed; therefore allowing you to achieve better cooking results.
Always use cookware with a flat bottom surface. Cookware with a curved or deformed bottom will not make proper contact with the induction cooktop surface and will not allow for even heat distribution.
Pan Size Matters. The induction cooktop surface will not activate unless the pan placed on the cooktop is at least 5” in diameter for the 6.5”, 7” and 11” burners; and 7” in diameter for the 9” burner.
When cooking large quantities of food, it is always better to use a large diameter pan and a larger burner. More efficient heat distribution will be achieved and food will cook evenly.
Can I install an oven beneath the Fagor Induction Cooktop?
Yes, as long as you follow the installation recommendations:
You’ll need a minimum clearance of:
What is the Noise/Vibration I hear?
During cooking, some cookware, especially pieces with a thin or non-uniformed bottomed surface, can emit a very low noise and vibration. In this case, there is no risk for the cooktop or for the cookware. However, cookware with a thick flat base will help to avoid such noise or vibration completely.
How do I clean/maintain my Induction Cooktop?
The surface is flat and smooth; spills and overflows do not stick to the cooktop, so they can easily be wiped away. We recommend you use either an ordinary porous sponge or special sponge for delicate items. Avoid cleaning the glass ceramic surface with abrasive materials or soaps in powder form as these detergents may scratch the surface.
We also recommend you clean any sugar-based spills immediately and always use cookware after the exterior has been wiped dry, for better contact with your cooktop.

How many BTUs does each burner have?
2MFA-2GLS X (12” Gas Cooktop)
3FIA-5GLST X (28” Gas Cooktop)
3FIA-95GLST X (36” Gas Cooktop)
Are the gas cooktops field convertible?
The cooktops are ready to be used with Natural Gas. Nevertheless, they are field convertible from NG (Natural Gas) to LP (Propane); each cooktop comes with the necessary utensils and instructions to perform this conversion.
Can I install an oven beneath a Fagor Gas Cooktop?
Yes, you can. Be sure to follow the installation instructions included with both products carefully.
What burner should I use?
In order to efficiently use this cooktop, the diameter of the pot or pan you are using should suitably match the heating potential of the burner you select. Keep in mind that a smaller diameter pot placed on a larger burner does not necessarily mean that boiling conditions will be reached in less time. In fact, using a large burner with a smaller diameter pot or pan means that most of the excess energy being produced by the burner is wasted.
Can I wash the grates in the dishwasher?
The grates are cast iron. Therefore, we do not recommend you wash them in a dishwasher. Clean with a sponge and warm soapy water or a non-abrasive cleaning product.
How can I clean my Fagor Gas Cooktop?
Before you begin cleaning, please ensure that the cooktop is switched off. We recommend washing the cooktop with warm soapy water or a non-abrasive cleaning product. Use a wet sponge and dry the surface with a clean soft cloth once you are done. For difficult dirt, use a specific non-abrasive product or a little hot vinegar.

The induction cooktop surface will not activate unless the pan placed on the cooktop is at least 5” to 10” in diameter.
We recommend you use either an ordinary porous sponge, damp soft cloth or special sponge for delicate items. Avoid cleaning the glass ceramic surface with abrasive materials or soaps in powder form as these detergents may scratch the surface.
To clean the casing and the operating panel, use a soft cloth or a mild detergent. Do not use any oil based cleansing products in order not to damage the plastic parts or the casing/operating panel. Make sure that water does not penetrate inside the induction cooktop and never immerse the induction cooktop, its cables or the plug into water or other liquids.
We also recommend you clean any sugar-based spills immediately and always use cookware after the exterior has been wiped dry, for better contact with your cooktop.
What type of cookware can I use on Induction?
Since Induction is based on magnetic principles, the cookware used on it must have a ferrous (iron-based, magnetic) bottom. Some types of cookware are made of naturally magnetic metals (such as pure iron), while others are made to be magnetic by “sandwiching” a thin layer of a ferrous metal in the base. This layer in the base is what will be affected by the magnetic field of the induction cooktop and distribute the heat. Generally speaking, tri-ply, high-quality stainless steel and cast iron cookware will work on induction cooktops. Copper, glass and aluminum cookware will not work unless they have a sandwiched magnetic base.
If the sides are not magnetic but the bottom is, your pot will still work perfectly well on induction. The pots that work best on induction are medium- to-heavy gauge.

How can I obtain better results with my Double Induction Buffet Warmer?
This Double Induction buffet warmer is suited to be used as a single or double zone warming surface or as a single cooking zone auxiliary device. It is not intended, nor suitable for high power cooking simultaneously on two cooking zones at once. In order to clarify any misconceptions about the functionality of this product. The following frequently asked question addresses specifically how the unit operates from a power sharing perspective.
Always place induction-ready cookware or chafing dishes in the center of the cooking zone. The unit is equipped with heating sensors that determine the temperature inside of the cookware. Placing the cookware in the center is necessary for a most accurate cooking performance.
The thicker the bottom of the cookware, the better cooking or warming results you will obtain. Remember, induction cooking technology principals are based on magnetism. If the bottom of the cookware is substantial enough to have a strong magnetic bond with the cooktop elements, heat will be better-distributed; therefore allowing you to achieve better cooking results.

What does power share mean?
This unit operates with a Power Sharing System. This means that the two cooking zones share the maximum 1800 W power available to them. The practical consequence of this system is that the power levels on the two sides cannot go above power level 6 when being used simultaneously.
If you are cooking on power level 3, for example, on the left side, you will only be able to use power levels 1, 2 and 3 on the right side. If you increase the power above level 3 on the right side, it will automatically reduce the power level on the left side, and vice versa.
At any given moment, the sum of the number indicated on the left side and the number indicated on the right side cannot be higher than 6.
Please refer to the product’s user manual for additional details.
Is my cookware induction compatible?
You need to use cookware that is induction compatible, which means that it has to be made of a ferromagnetic material or have inserts with magnetic properties.
Enameled iron and steel, cast iron, and stainless steel with magnetic bottom cookware are all induction compatible. All Fagor stainless steel cookware is induction compatible.
If you are unsure about your cookware, you can easily test if it is induction compatible. All you need is a magnet, decorative fridge magnet will do fine. If a magnet readily clings to the base of your cookware piece, that piece is induction compatible; if the magnet does not cling, or clings only very weakly, the piece is not suitable for induction cooking.

How Safe is the Fagor Electric Multi-Cooker?
The Fagor Electric Multi-Cooker is perfectly safe and does not pose any risk for explosion. The lid will not open until all the steam has dissipated and pressure has been completely released.
How do I build pressure in my Fagor Electric Multi- Cooker?
In order for the Multi-Cooker to build pressure, the cooking liquid in the pot has to be brought to a boil with the lid positioned in place and the pressure regulator knob turned to “Pressure”. As the cooking liquid begins to boil, steam is produced. The trapped steam will build up and compress, creating pressure. As pressure builds, the pressure regulator valve will activate and release the right amount of steam to maintain the correct pressure within the cooker.
How do I know my Fagor Electric Multi-Cooker has come up to pressure?
The unit will begin to count down in minutes once the appropriate pressure has been reached. The floating valve will rise when pressure is reached.
How do I release the pressure from my Fagor Electric Multi-Cooker?
a) Natural release method: let the pressure drop naturally without turning the pressure regulator knob to “Steam”. This will take several minutes, during which the food inside will continue cooking. Some recipes benefit from this extra cooking time. You will know when the pressure has been released for the floating valve will drop and you will be able to open the lid.
b) Quick release method: release the pressure immediately by turning the pressure regulator knob to STEAM. All the pressure will be released in seconds. CAUTION: The steam coming out of the cooker will be hot, and might contain droplets of hot liquid. Always turn the jet of steam away from your face and hands. NOTE: If you do not press the START/STOP button at the end of the cooking time, the multi-cooker will beep periodically to remind you that the cooking ended.
Why doesn’t my Fagor Electric Multi-Cooker build up pressure?
There can be numerous reasons why pressure would not build up in your multi-cooker.
Reason: Not enough cooking liquid.
Solution: Always use a sufficient amount of cooking liquid for the type of food being prepared and the length of cooking. Consult the recipe you are following for the amount of liquid.
If you have not added sufficient liquid and you notice that the floating valve has not risen, but the timer is counting down, perform the following steps:
1. Stop the Multi-cooker by pressing the START/STOP button.
2. Turn the pressure regulator knob to STEAM, using short bursts, until the pressure is fully released.
3. Remove the lid and add approximately 1 cup of water/stock or any liquid. Stir food to disperse liquid.

Yes it does. What’s more is that the electric steamer’s built-in timer makes it easier to time your healthy recipes to protection. This allows you to produce the most flavorful & nutrient rich results while avoiding overcooking.
How do I get the best results from my steamer?
Refer to the instructions and time charts provided in the manual. Remember that times may vary according to the weight or density of the food you plan to cook. When unsure of a recipe’s timing. It’s better to steam for less time and still be able to steam some more than steam for longer overcook your food.
Also, if you're using multiple baskets at the same time, put the things that you expect to take longer at the bottom and start those off, before adding the other baskets later.
Don't pack the steamer baskets too tightly; leave as much space as possible for the steam to circulate around your food.
Uniformity is the key to good steamer cooking, so use pieces of meat or fish that are approximately the same size, and slice, dice or chop vegetables into similar-sized pieces.
Can I use seasonings?
You can add extra flavor to foods by adding fresh herbs, slices of lemon, garlic or onion underneath or on top of food in the steaming basket.
Fresh herbs from the garden will give a bright earthiness to steamed food. Be sure to place seasonings on the foods. Do not season the liquid in the steamer to avoid damaging the water heating chamber.
Alternatively, marinate the food in oils and spices for a few hours before steaming.
How do I de-scale the steamer?
In order to maintain the efficiency of the Steamer, we recommend you de-scale the appliance regularly. If the water is very hard in your area, it is recommended to de-scale the appliance after every 8 to 10 uses. Fill the water tank to the maximum level with water and vinegar in the same proportion.
Plug the appliance in and switch it on. For this procedure do not use any steamer baskets. Set the timer for 20 to 25 minutes. Once the timer is up, wait for the unit to cool down before emptying the vinegar. Rinse the water tank several times with water.
Can I make Rice & Grains in the Steamer?
Yes. If you want to steam rice, grains, or any food item that is too small to place directly in the steamer baskets, use the rice bowl.
Simply fill the rice bowl with rice, seasonings, and water in the proportion indicated on the packaging. Place the rice bowl inside the lowest steamer basket and cook for the time indicated on the packaging. You may steam other items simultaneously in the other steamer baskets if you wish.

How Safe is the Fagor Electric Pressure Cooker?
The Fagor Electric Pressure Cooker is perfectly safe and does not pose any risk for explosion. The lid will not open until all the steam has dissipated and pressure has been completely released.
How do I build pressure in my Fagor Electric Pressure Cooker?
In order for the unit to build pressure, the cooking liquid in the pot has to be brought to a boil with the lid positioned in place and the pressure regulator knob turned to “Pressure”. As the cooking liquid begins to boil, steam is produced. The trapped steam will build up and compress, creating pressure. As pressure builds, the pressure regulator valve will activate and release the right amount of steam to maintain the correct pressure within the cooker.
How do I know my Electric Pressure Cooker has come up to pressure?
The unit will begin to count down in minutes once the appropriate pressure has been reached. The floating valve will rise when pressure is reached.
How do I release the pressure from my Electric Pressure Cooker?
a) Natural release method: let the pressure drop naturally without turning the pressure regulator knob to “Steam”.
NOTE: If you do not press the START/STOP button at the end of the cooking time, the pressure cooker will beep periodically to remind you that the cooking time has ended.
Why doesn’t my Electric Pressure Cooker build up pressure?
There can be numerous reasons why:
Reason: Not enough cooking liquid.
Solution: Always use a sufficient amount of cooking liquid for the type of food being prepared and the length of cooking. Consult the recipe you are following for the amount of liquid.
If you have not added sufficient liquid and you notice that the floating valve has not risen, but the timer is counting down, perform the following steps:
1. Stop the Pressure Cooker by pressing the START/STOP button.
2. Turn the pressure regulator knob to STEAM, using short bursts, until the pressure is fully released.
3. Remove the lid and add approximately 1 cup of water/stock or any liquid. Stir food to disperse liquid.
4. Replace the lid and slide into position.
5. Press the LOW or HIGH PRESSURE button and set the desired time.
6. Press the START/STOP button to begin cooking again.
