Is my cookware induction compatible?

You need to use cookware that is induction compatible, which means that it has to be made of a ferromagnetic material or have inserts with magnetic properties.


Enameled iron, cast iron, most types of stainless steel, any kind of cookware with a magnetic bottom are all induction compatible. All Fagor cookware is induction compatible.


If you are unsure about your cookware, you can easily test if it is induction compatible. All you need is a magnet. If a magnet readily clings to the base of your cookware piece, that piece is induction compatible; if the magnet does not cling, or clings only very weakly, the piece is not suitable for induction cooking.

How can I obtain better results with my Fagor Induction Cooktop?

Always place your cookware in the center of the burner. The cooktop is equipped with heating sensors that determine the temperature inside of the cookware. Placing the cookware in the center is necessary for a most accurate cooking performance.


The thicker the bottom of the cookware, the better cooking results you will obtain. Remember, induction cooking technology principals are based on magnetism. If the bottom of the cookware is substantial enough to have a strong magnetic bond with the cooktop elements, heat will be better-distributed; therefore allowing you to achieve better cooking results.


Always use cookware with a flat bottom surface. Cookware with a curved or deformed bottom will not make proper contact with the induction cooktop surface and will not allow for even heat distribution.
Pan Size Matters. The induction cooktop surface will not activate unless the pan placed on the cooktop is at least 5” in diameter for the 6.5”, 7” and 11” burners; and 7” in diameter for the 9” burner.
When cooking large quantities of food, it is always better to use a large diameter pan and a larger burner. More efficient heat distribution will be achieved and food will cook evenly.

Can I install an oven beneath the Fagor Induction Cooktop?

Yes, as long as you follow the installation recommendations:


You’ll need a minimum clearance of:

  • 3/8” from the back wall
  • 30” below the cabinet above
  • 2” beneath the induction unit

What is the Noise/Vibration I hear?

During cooking, some cookware, especially pieces with a thin or non-uniformed bottomed surface, can emit a very low noise and vibration. In this case, there is no risk for the cooktop or for the cookware. However, cookware with a thick flat base will help to avoid such noise or vibration completely.

How do I clean/maintain my Induction Cooktop?

The surface is flat and smooth; spills and overflows do not stick to the cooktop, so they can easily be wiped away. We recommend you use either an ordinary porous sponge or special sponge for delicate items. Avoid cleaning the glass ceramic surface with abrasive materials or soaps in powder form as these detergents may scratch the surface.


We also recommend you clean any sugar-based spills immediately and always use cookware after the exterior has been wiped dry, for better contact with your cooktop.
