SLOW JUICER PLATINO FAQ

What is the difference between a slow juicer and a traditional juicer?

With a Fagor Platino the juice is extracted from the food by carefully crushing and pressing the fruit twice before entering the glass rather than shredding and tearing the food. This helps to preserve more of the organic vitamins and nutrients in your juice. The Platino automatically separates the pulp from the juice, so there is no debris to clog the juicer. Slow juicing allows you to consume more fruits and vegetables in one glass than you can eat at one time. The result is a more delicious, healthier glass of juice.

What kinds of fruits, vegetables and leafy greens can I juice in the Slow Juicer?

You can juice all fruits, vegetables and leafy greens including kale, mint and wheatgrass.  In preparing vegetables, its best to cut them into slim 3-inch pieces so they are able to be easily fed into the food chute. When preparing your fruit to be juiced, we also recommend that you cut each piece into slim 3-inch pieces, remove all citrus skins, pits, seeds and stems.

Leafy greens are easier to insert into the food chute when rolled and folded into sizes no larger than 3-inches.  Leaves are also easier to process through the slow juicer when they are dry, it is recommended to dry leaves before juicing.  Various types of greens may have the tendency to occasionally clog the slow juicer, if this should happen, you can easily clear this up by inserting a few pieces of fibrous foods, like celery or beets.

We recommend soaking your raw almonds (raw is the best to juicer) in water for 12-24 hours prior to juicing.  Properly rinse the Almonds off before feeding into the food chute and insert into the juicer with the desired amount of water. For best results, the two should be fed into the juicer at the same time.
