Fagor Refrigerators Recalled by Fagor America, Inc Due to Fire Hazard

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of product: Fagor Refrigerator

Units: About 1400 units

Importer: Fagor America, Inc
Hazard: The control card in certain model refrigerators can overheat, posing a fire hazard to customers.

Incidents/Injuries: Fagor America has received 17 reports of incidents, including 2 reports of fires resulting in property damage. No injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves certain Fagor refrigerators manufactured from July 2006 through May 2010. The brand name is on the refrigerator front door. Model and serial numbers are located inside the refrigerator door, on the left hand side near the food storage drawers.

Manufactured in: Spain.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately contact the repair hotline for a free repair.
